The Toddler Program at Bergen-Lafayette Montessori
Toddlers can often be heard saying, “I do it myself!” But what is sometimes referred to as stubbornness is actually the entry point to a new plane of independence. In a Montessori classroom, the principle of freedom within boundaries enables these small people to safely and creatively express their aspiration to serve themselves and others.

Our Toddler classroom recognizes that these young learners are active and that they are soaking up everything around them. The carefully prepared classroom guides children to regulate and strengthen their physical movements, communicate in both English and Spanish, develop social skills, and care for themselves and their environment.
